The Carbon Neutrality Student Lab Participated in the City Development Co-Creation Project through “SDGs Sports.

On June 28, the Carbon Neutrality Student Lab, an extracurricular student club, participated in the “Toyohashi Future Co-Creation Project” symposium held at emCAMPUS in front of Toyohashi Station. The lab students presented their SDGs activities to about 40 participants and introduced “SDG Sports,” which was created by students.

At the symposium, Associate Professor Haruka Ono from Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering, the industry-academia-government leader of the SDG City Planning Co-Creation Project, declared the launch of this project to activate “the sparse” urban space through agriculture, information technology, and entrepreneurship. Next, students explained their SDGs local and international activities using posters.

The students, including international students from Finland and Pakistan, also introduced the “SDGs Sports,” inspired by the Finnish throwing sport “Molkky.” The students proposed that the event would be an opportunity for children to learn about the SDGs while playing.

The students who participated in the symposium commented that they would like to continue contributing to a sustainable society and environment and improve their abilities through activities with citizens and international students.

We hope that the students will continue to work on the SDGs from their unique perspectives and their activities will foster further cooperation between industry, academia, and government.
