Introduction of Hagoromo University of International Studies
Hagoromo University of International Studies (HUIS) was founded in 2002 with the aim of nurturing promising and professional individuals to the local region and the global society through quality higher education. To achieve this aim, HUIS provides students with general education, comprehensive academic programs and practical training that will help both Japanese and international students prepare for a successful career in the business world and in an upcoming symbiotic society. HUIS sets a high value on freedom, independence, self-control, and respect for one’s own individuality as well as that of others. This spirit has been handed down from Hagoromo Women’s High school, the predecessor of the present Hagoromo University, which was founded in 1923. The founder of Hagoromo Women’s High school, Dr. Ikundo Shimamura, believed our education should be on the basis of Aishin, which means the truth in love or integrity as a human being.
