[Tourism as a Profession] “Awara Onsen” for the Hokuriku Shinkansen opening in 2024 × “Fukui Prefectural Tourism Federation” × “Osaka University of Tourism” Special Lecture
In the first-year students’ required class “Tourism as a Profession,” we have invited people active in the tourism industry to give special lectures. The first session was held on June 14th.
The first lecture on Wednesday, June 14th was given by Mr. Takazumi Yamaguchi, the young master of “Grandeur Onsen” in Awara Onsen (Onsen stands for hot spring), and the second lecture on Wednesday, June 21 was given by Ms. Tomoyo Okumura, proprietress of “Koufuyuu Beniya” in Awara Onsen, about the appeal of working at a ryokan (ryokan stands for traditional Japanese hotel).

On Wednesday, June 28, the third session, Ms. Akiko Matsuo, an alumna and Activity Supervisor of the Fukui Prefectural Tourism Federation, will talk about the joys of working in the tourism industry.
We will continue to invite professional insiders who are working on the scene of the tourism industry to share the knowledge, skills, and experiences required for tourism service providers.
