“The Panel Meeting on Regional Development and Tourism Promotion Centered on Kanku Airport” was held.
On Saturday, June 17th, the first meeting of the “Research Panel of Regional Development and Tourism Promotion Centered on the Kansai International Airport” was held.
The meeting was attended by local government officials, including Izumisano City Mayor Daiko Chiyomatsu, Kumatori Town Mayor Toshiji Fujiwara, the Kansai Tourism Headquarters, KIX Senshu, KIX Kanko, KIX Kanko, and the Kansai International Airport (KIX Kanko),
Kansai Tourism Headquarters, KIX Senshu Tourism Bureau and other leading tourism promotion organizations, New Kansai International Airport Co, Kansai Airport Corporation, Kansai Airport Corporation, ANA, K-Sky, Peach, and other companies related to Kansai International Airport.
At the discussion session, university board chairman Kenji Yamamoto of Osaka University of Tourism gave the opening remarks, followed by Mr. Masahiko Nomura, Deputy Director-General of the Kansai Tourism Organization, who spoke about the importance of the Kansai region Mr. Masahiko Nomura, Deputy Director General of the Kansai Tourism Headquarters, gave a lecture on the promotion of the “Kansai Area” and the “Kansai International Airport”. Professor Kinji Onoda from Osaka University of Tourism gave a report on the current situation and issues related to tourism under the theme of “Human Resources for Tourism in the Post-Corona Era: Thinking about the Direction of Tourism in the Kansai Airport Area from a Recurrent Perspective,” incorporating practical examples from Osaka University of Tourism.
After the presentation, the participants had a chance to exchange opinions on the formation of strengths and challenges in the industry-government-academia alliance, with Kansai International Airport as the center.
