【Special Buddy-Program Project】 Japan Day was held

As part of the “Buddy Program,” the university is holding a two-week “Japan Festival” from July 10th to July 21st to promote a deeper and wider understanding of Japan by displaying posters and panels of Japanese sightseeing spots and quizzes related to Japanese geography on campus. The festival is held every two weeks.

July 11th was designated as “Special Japan Day” and a variety of events were held to allow students to experience Japanese culture.

As a highlight of the event, Shinobue player Hikaru and members of “Wasai – Nagiiro” visited the school and gave a passionate performance of Shinobue and Taiko drums.
The students were able to have a very valuable experience, including a taiko drumming session afterward.
Thank you very much to Mr. Hikaru and everyone from “Wasai – Nagiiro”.

We would also like to thank the tea ceremony club and our buddies for their cooperation.
Many international students associate the “tea ceremony”(茶道) with Japan, and it was a perfect fit for Japan Day.
The “shaved ice,” “cotton candy,” and “super ball scooping” stalls set up by students, as well as the “yukata (summer kimono) experience,” were also popular.

We hope this event will be a great opportunity to promote interest in cross-cultural exchange and buddy activities.

We are also planning to hold  “Vietnam Day” and  “China Day” events this coming winter!
