Social Volunteer Activity at Nishiki-no-Hama Beach
On October 25th, 83 students from Osaka University of Tourism in the second-year Environmental Literacy class took part in a beach clean-up activity, organized by the Kaizuka City Tourist Association and Honda Co., Ltd. Honda has been working on activities at beaches all over Japan under the theme “A beach where our future generations can walk barefooted”. This time the activity was held at Nishiki-no-Hama Beach near our university. Through cleaning the beach, our students had a great experience that further deepened their understanding of the relationship between the natural environment and tourism. We encourage our students to learn outside of the classroom through social activities and practical experience. That’s our approach towards fostering “the power to enjoy”.
