A Youth Delegation from Mildura, Sister City of Kumatori, Visits Osaka Univeristy of Tourism for Cultural Exchange
On October 15, 2024, a delegation of young people from Mildura, Australia, Kumatori Town’s sister city, visited to strengthen their friendship through a cultural exchange program hosted on our campus.
The core of the delegation consisted of students from Chaffey Secondary College, who engaged in traditional Japanese activities such as calligraphy and kendama. Japanese students from our university also participated in the program, which wrapped up with a friendly hanetsuki match. Despite language differences, the event was a success, with participants sharing that they had a great time and even managed to connect on Instagram.
Editor’s Note: The delegation from Mildura has been visiting Kumatori every two years, but the exchange was put on hold due to COVID-19. This year’s visit marks the first since the pandemic.
