Explanation of the Global Code of Ethics for Tourism (GCET) at the 2025 New Student Orientation
On Wednesday, April 2, 2025, an explanation of the Global Code of Ethics for Tourism (GCET) was provided during the new student orientation.



In addition to outlining the fundamental significance of the GCET, the session emphasized the growing need for research on sustainable tourism.
It was also reported that in March 2025, Osaka University of Tourism successfully renewed its Tourism Education Quality (TedQual) certification, which is granted by the United Nations.
Furthermore, an overview was given of UN Tourism’s “Best Tourism Villages (BTV)” project, which recognizes outstanding regions that contribute to sustainable tourism development. This initiative promotes the conservation of natural and cultural heritage through tourism, in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
