Participation in the Veneto Region Special Event at the Italy Pavilion, Expo 2025 Osaka-Kansai

On May 5, 2025, at the invitation of the Italian Trade Agency (ITA), Mr. Mitamaya, Director of the Office of International Affairs, and Mr. Hashimoto, Director of the Office of Industry-Academia-Regional Collaboration, attended the special event on behalf of our university. They were accompanied by Professor Ono (Specially Appointed Professor, Faculty of Tourism), the Head of the Admissions and Public Relations Office, and staff from the Office of International Exchange.

The event, titled “Veneto Region: Venice, Where Tradition Meets Innovation”, was attended by high-level representatives including the Italian government delegation, the Italian Ambassador to Japan, the Governor of the Veneto Region, and the Director of the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) at the Embassy of Italy.

Prior to the opening of the event, our delegation had the opportunity to greet Mr. Bruno Giampaolo, Director of ITA, as well as the Consul General of Italy in Osaka. These encounters provided a valuable opportunity to deepen international collaboration going forward.

This invitation was extended with the upcoming “Marche Immersive” event scheduled to be held at our university on June 5. During this event, which will take place as part of the “Tourism DX” class offered by the Faculty of Tourism, guest speakers will give presentations on topics such as digital tourism, technologies for enhancing the value of cultural heritage, and examples of smart tourism utilizing AI. As this will be the university’s first initiative of its kind, it is highly anticipated.
