Our strategy

Among the five challenges of the TUT Plan 2021, we have set “Promotion of technological sciences that contribute to the formation of a sustainable society” as Challenge 4. We will promote the technological sciences in energy, materials, and human social sciences that contribute to the creation of a safe and secure society in the new normal age for the Sustainable Development Goals.

Activity in the local community

[10 Principles: A commitment to promoting inter-cultural dialogue and understanding, and removal of intolerance through education.]

Since 2018, TUT has been implementing a “Global Rotation Program for Engineering Education Centered on ASEAN and African Countries”, funded by a MEXT Scholarship (University Recommendation under the Special Program 2017).

This program offers a teaching practice class for doctoral students in order to support the professional development of faculty in higher education in ASEAN and African countries.

From November 2020 to January 2021, these students taught an active learning class to students at Toyohashi Higashi High School, where they discussed topics related to Sustainable Development Goals in their countries. (Reference: Toyohashi Higashi High school “SDGs program”). This teaching practice is also offered class in 2021.
