Kyoto University of Art and Design promotes art education with emphasizing on “society and art” based on the philosophy of “Future Built on the Arts” and “Toward a Kyoto Renaissance”

In 1998, the first online university course was established as 4-year university, and more than 10,000 students are studying across generations and regions.
In addition, from Kabuki theaters and galleries that can perform from traditional performing arts such as Kabuki to modern performances, the university provide a place of creation where new value is born with utilizing world-class cutting-edge digital and analog labs and facilities.
“Future Build on the Arts” is a quest for world peace through the power of students who have studied art, is good fit with the SDGs adopted in 2015.
As a result, the SDGs Promotion Office was established in April 2019.
