GTP-Hanoi Alliance Meeting and Alumni reunion were held (2020.1.10)

On Friday, January 10, GTP-Hanoi Alliance Meeting hosted by NUT and Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) was held at HUST campus where one of the NUT’s overseas bases locates.

The purpose of the Meeting is exchanging information and forming human networks among NUT, HUST, Vietnam companies, Japanese companies, and Ministry of Commerce and Industry of Vietnam.

Following opening remarks by Dr. Hoang Minh Son (President of HUST) and Dr. OHISHI Kiyoshi (Executive Director・Vice-President of NUT), Dr. Pham Hoang Luong (Associate Professor of HUST) explained activities at Vietnam Japan International Institute for Science of Technology (VJIIST) jointly established by NUT and HUST. After that, Dr. KOBAYASHI Takaomi (Professor of NUT) reported the progress of activities at GIGAKU Techno Park (GTP) network, and then M.Sc. Nguyen Thi Xuan Thuy (Ministry of Commerce and Industry in Vietnam) introduced examples of cooperation among Government of Vietnam-GTP- VJIIST.

After breaks and poster sessions, Ms. Nguyen Hong Hanh (NC-network VN), Dr. Ta Hai Tung (Associate Professor of HUST), Dr. KATSUMI Mami (UEA of NUT) and Mr. Nguyen Dinh Huy (Takasago Vietnam) delivered presentations about industry-academia-government collaborations. The morning session ended with the closing remarks by Dr. Pham Hoang Luong.
In the afternoon, participants were divided into three groups and visited either of two Vietnam companies or HUST laboratories, respectively. After that, alumni reunion was held with graduates of NUT.

Although this alliance meeting was held in Hanoi, not only Vietnam companies but also many Japanese companies interested in global expansion and international industry-academia-government collaboration participated, and actively exchanged opinions. The meeting was finally completed with great success.

NUT will continue to actively foster practical engineers and support globalization of SMEs through the GTP activities.
