NUT held an online Debrief Session of International Industry-Academia Collaboration Activities and Meeting for Information Exchange (2020.10.15)

On Thursday, October 15, Nagaoka University of Technology (NUT) held an online Debrief Session of International Industry-Academia Collaboration Activities and Meeting for Information Exchange.

This session was held online for the first time, with the purpose of introducing our international industry-academia collaboration activities using GIGAKU Techno Park (GTP) network which has been established in strategic overseas locations in order to provide Japanese companies with support for global expansion.

Following opening remarks by Executive Director and Vice-President Kiyoshi Ohishi, Professor Takaomi Kobayashi introduced examples of international collaborative research and internships for global human resources using the GTP.

Then, Dr. Hua Thuy Trang, coordinator of the GTP Hanoi office gave a presentation on Hanoi (Vietnam), Associate Professor Toru Sasaki gave a presentation on Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam), and Ms. Krishnapillai Norie Kobayashi, coordinator of the IITM-NUT desk gave a presentation on India in Japanese on the local situation in each country and examples of international industry-academia collaboration.

Afterwards, a lively question and answer session took place in the online roundtable discussions held in each country. It was revealing that have a strong interest in global business development and the acquisition of high-level global engineers in both living with COVID-19 and post COVID-19.

The meeting ended with a great success having more than 50 participants all together.

With this success, the 6th GTP Alliance Meeting is planned to be held this winter with coordinators from 12 overseas offices in 9 countries.

NUT will continue to actively support the globalization of local companies through international industry-academia collaboration activities.
