The 1st Faculty of International Liberal Arts Cup “OIDAI SDGs Initiative” Presentation Contest

On October 16, 2021, The 1st Faculty of International Liberal Arts Cup “OIDAI SDGs Initiative” Presentation Contest was held at Otemon Gakuin University(OIDAI) . The theme of the contest was “Let’s deepen our understanding of the SDGs and work together to change OIDAI and society!”

Among the 17 goals of the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals), the following three agendas were designated for this year’s contest.

(1) SDG 5: Gender Equality
(2) SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth
(3) SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions

In the presentation, they argued that we need to reform the way of working and the awareness of work itself under the influence of COVID-19. They also presented the idea of developing an application to realize gender equality and the launch of a project for children who need support for Japanese language education.

【Preliminary rounds】

The four judges comprehensively evaluated the content and structure of the message, the ability to communicate, the English skill, and the question-and-answer session, and the final was held on October 31, 2021 during the School Festival “OIDAI FESTIVAL 2021”. Two groups advanced to the finals, and the winner was the student (third grade, Faculty of International Liberal Arts) who presented on the theme of “An application to solve gender equality.
