Sophia University Joins United Nations Global Compact

On May 20, 2015, Sophia University signed on to the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), a worldwide UN initiative to achieve sustainable growth. Driven by top management’s commitment to the ten UNGC principles relating to human rights, labour, the environment, and anti-corruption measures, the University will continue its efforts to achieve sustainable growth.

Since June 2014 Sophia University has been a member of the United Nations Academic Impact initiative, a partnership between the UN and institutions of higher education around the world. The recent decision to join UNGC will enhance education and research required for sustainable development and promote inter-university collaboration and industry-academia collaboration with corporations and other organizations that are also UNGC members.
