Toyohashi University of Technology established the Head Office for Sustainable Development Goals.
Since joining the United Nations Academic Impact in May 2018, TUT has promoted SDGs activities inside and outside the campus. The Head Office for Sustainable Development Goals will accelerate these activities to university-wide efforts. The University’s mission is to develop innovative technology and facilitate education and research by unraveling technology from scientific perspectives, named technological science. Based on this mission, TUT aims to promote co-creation with society and lead regional sustainable development as an academic institution. The Head Office for Sustainable Development Goals will promote university-wide SDGs education, social implementation research that leads to the solution for social or local issues and the development and creation of industries, and social advocacy research that leads to policy recommendations for local governments. Furthermore, TUT will further strengthen our activities to achieve the SDGs by promoting education and research activities through international partnerships and improving the research environment and employment opportunities for female researchers.
