NUT held “GA – Gigaku in Thailand 2018” (The Global Activity of “Science of Technology Innovation” for Sustainable Development Goals in Thailand 2018)(2018.1.4-7)

  An overseas intensive training program on SDGs was conducted on January 4th – 7th, 2018 for 4 days long in Bangkok and Khon Kaen, the Kingdom of Thailand. 5 members (4 KOSEN college students + 1 NUT (Nagaoka University of Technology) graduate school student) visited the site and worked in association with Thai students from Thai students from King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (Bangkuntien campus) and Khon Kaen University to propose the voluntary initiatives to achieve SDGs.

  During the program, the Japanese students had opportunities to interact with Thai students and learned to adjust to the surrounding while they have different backgrounds each other. Also the students enjoyed speaking English and exhibited great communication work efforts discussing SDGs in terms of their research field which helped them to achieve their targeted SDGs and, in the prospective future, spread their message to the world around.

This program has been carried out a total of 3 times started in 2016:

1st: March 2nd – 6th, 2016, Vietnam, 12 members (11 KOSEN college students + 1 NUT students)

2nd: March 5th – 9th, 2017, Thailand, 17 members (15KOSEN college students + 2 NUT students)

3rd: January 4th – 7th, 2018, Thailand, 5 members (4 KOSEN college students + 1 NUT student)
