NUT’s “Kawaii Rika Project” held experimental workshops for junior high school girls in Vietnam
Nagaoka University of Technology’s “Kawaii Rika Project” has been working on enlightenment activities for elementary and junior high school girls to have interest in science through "Kawaii". In order to disseminate its activities abroad, we held a science experimental workshops with students from our university in Hanoi, Vietnam from January 14th to January 16th 2019.
On January 14th, we conducted experimental workshop on advanced paper chromatography and produced mini flower cups using its principles for expecting for students of Hanoi Technical University (HUST) Twinning Program to be a local supporter of this project. On 15th and 16th, we visited Ngo Sy Lien Junior High School in Hanoi City and Ta Quang Buu Junior High School together with HUST student supporters who participated in the 14th experimental workshop, and conducted experimental workshop on paper chromatography for elementary and junior high school students and experiments on making mini flower cups.
Both junior high schools welcomed our visit with a school and the students entered the experiment workshop very enthusiastically. This experimental workshop was a good opportunity to feel the enjoyment and fun of touching science.
We support the efforts of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science advocated by the United Nations.
