Nagaoka University of Technology (NUT) held a meeting session with the president of NUT and student SDGs promoters on Wednesday, September 23.

Student SDGs promoters were appointed in September this year to encourage students to think creatively towards public relations activities and events to promote the SDGs. Since then, the student promoters have been actively working together through online discussion for their future approaches onward.

This meeting was planned at the request of President Azuma, in order to have face to face communication with the promoters to hear their innovative ideas and honest opinions. By taking this opportunity, the president expects the NUT’s SDG activities to be more promoted.President Azuma, members of the Office for SDGs Promotion, and 10 student SDGs promoters participated in the meeting.

The meeting was held in a friendly atmosphere then, the promoter proposed the idea of a CPR seminar to explain how to use AED and how to perform cardiac massage in both Japanese and English in an easy-to-understand format for international students and foreign faculty members. The CPR seminar was decided to be held on-site and on-line, taking place on September 29 which is the “World Heart Day.” Ideas of promoters were expected to stimulate SDGs promotion activities.

In order to achieve the SDGs, NUT will continue to promote initiatives by work together with students, faculty, and staff members.
