The 12th Vietnam–Japan Scientific Exchange Meeting 2022 has been held

VJSE is an exchange meeting organized by the Vietnamese Youth and Student Association in Japan (VYSA) in collaboration with Japanese institutions of education. The event has been held in various major cities in both countries, including Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto in Japan, and Hanoi in Vietnam. This academic year’s meeting was held online and hosted by the Vietnamese Youth and Student Association in Niigata (VYSAN). Vietnamese students from Nagaoka University of Technology (NUT) participated as members of the organizing and steering committees.

The opening session was attended by representatives from the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan, the Vietnamese Ministry of Science and Technology, NUT, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, VYSA, and VYSAN, each of whom delivered remarks. In his opening remarks, NUT President Dr. KAMADO Shigeharu said, “This is an important conference for further promoting cooperation in various fields, through the exchange of views between Vietnamese and Japanese researchers and students and presentation of the results of ongoing research. Vietnamese students are our largest group of international students, and we are delighted to see them get involved in the planning and organization of this meeting.”

In the morning, four sessions were held in which participants gave presentations in English on Information Science and Control Engineering, Materials Science, Energy and Environmental Science, and Integrated Bioscience and Technology. This was followed in the afternoon by four sessions in which participants gave presentations in Vietnamese or Japanese on lifestyles, cultural exchange, entrepreneurship, and work experience. The meeting provided valuable opportunities for faculty, students, experts, and businesspeople to gather, providing information and exchanging ideas.

Going forward, we will continue to promote academic exchange and collaborate in the fields of education and science and technology, to further deepen the friendship between Vietnam and Japan.
