A special lecture on SDGs was held.

On Sunday, September 17th, a “Special Lecture on SDGs” was held at Nagaoka University of Technology.

For this lecture, we invited Mayor Ryo INADA of Mitsuke City, which has been selected as an SDGs Future City, to give a lecture on the city’s SDGs-oriented urban policies and other topics.

As this event was held at the same time as the “Gidaisai (Nagaoka University of Technology Festival),” our first regular university festival held in four years, it was able to be attended by many people from outside the university in addition to our students. We received positive feedback on our “Efforts and Results in Realizing SDGs Future Cities” and “Sustainable Urban Policies in Local Cities”. In addition, during the opinion exchange session held with the participants, we received meaningful comments such as “We should provide opportunities for exchange with students and faculty members to further deepen the SDGs activities both at our university and in Mitsuke City,” which led to a lively exchange of opinions.

As a United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI) SDG9 Hub University, we will continue to widely disseminate the SDGs to citizens and many others, conduct activities that contribute to the achievement of the SDGs, and conduct research, technology development and education that will foster innovation that can contribute to society.
